A trip to Corpus Christi in 1997

When I was about 11, I went down to my aunts house in rockport tx to spend the summer with her.  Fortunately, the tracks were not too far away from her house so we frequented the tracks alot.  Unfortunately, this is a very slow branch from Gregory to Aransas Pass.  Back when I visited, the Degusa Carbon Black plant was still in full operation. Here are some pictures from my trip.

CWC3 1st post---mixed pix

Well guys, this is the first time for me to use this site so we will see how this works.  Here goes,

couple pictures from yesterdays rondevous.

took this at kennedale on the approach to Bisbee Siding (mp 42.9).  Loaded Cement train headed for Midlothian. Taken 10/28/2010

UP 1996 (ESPEE heritage sd70ace) on the M-FwHo-24 taken on 11/24/2010.  This was an unexpected suprise for me as i came around the curve from I-35 to I-30 and saw it at T&P station main track 4.  I gave chase to it. 

BNSF 6766 (an x ATSF sd40-2) and another sister unit switch a UP Coal train that came in off the Fort Worth Sub of the UP.  The BNSF switches it and delivers the cars to the steel mill here at Ward Spur.  UP is responsible for transport to Ward Spur.

Here we have KCS 4586 ac4400cw and KCS 4037 sd70ace RETROBELLE as they pass under Allen St and will stop at South Ney Yard to obtain a Track Warrant from the Midlothian Sub DS.  BTW this is train M-FwHo-22 taken 9/22/2010.

BNSF 6385 es44ac and a sd70ace pass me at Broadway Ave and head south toward Ney and eventually the Midlothian sub and will head to Kirvin Tx for the TXUX (Big Brown plant)

Taken from the FWWR overpass at Echo Lake Park on the Beginning of the Midlothian sub.  UP 2446 a sd60m that was recently taken out of storage to help with the ever changing pick up in freight(yay, good to see the 60s and the 60ms back.)

Here we have FWWR 2004 and 2019 on the Everman Sub Branch.  This job usually runs early morning hours.

On Friday, I caught this bad boy, the M-ShFw-14 with a KCSM 4668 retrobelle gevo and another UP 4264 sd70m.  (Thanks Mr Hawk and Brad for Heads up)

My last picture is well, my favorite for today---a warbonnet consist and one single NS loco with what I am soon going to be doing, working for the ARMY.  Lead loco was BNSF 718.

SP patch and non-patched locos

I have seen a number of SP gp60s both patched and non patched.  However I only have some recent picts of some gp60s.  So without further abdoo, here we go.

UP 1999 (x SSW 9697) on an industrial spur in Mansfield Tx on the LBC41.

SP 9632 gp60 along with UP 1454 gp40-2 work the local in Burleson Tx.

Drury day for Trains 12/23/2010 and 12/28/2010

Based on 2 separate days I spent taking pictures. 

WB Z train has just crossed Davis Street in Arlington Tx and heads for Fort worth and Points West.

Right in my face, an Eb Manifest flyes past me in Grand Prairie Tx on main 1.  I almost fell off my feet as he was going almost 55mph.

And my favorite of all the picts, wb I-DILBB passes me at IONA on its way to Long Beach.  Nice to hear him in run 8 too.

Late December 2010

Well, I am going to compile a bunch of shots i took up until a couple days ago.  Hope yall enjoy them as much as i did taking them.  Here goes.: 

We will start with this, TRE 570 f59phi taken on 12/17/2010 at T&P station.  nice and clean too.  And yes permission was granted to photo on the platform per the engineer. :)

Here we have CN 2520 a c44-9w??  as it pulls UP train A-AmKb across the BNSF tracks at Midlothian on its way to Kirby Tx.

An ex AMTRAK material handling car, now a different owner at FWWR Hodge yard, I spotted as many as 5 of these cars this day at the yard.  Taken 12/20/2010

At Center St in Arlington, eb intermodal to DIT passes the QZ and heads east.

Amtrak 22 EB at Ayers St in Poly, Tx as it heads for Dallas.  Check the clouds out. 

After a heads up from a railfan friend of mine and listenin to the scanner, I stopped at Handley and saw the Special train parked on main 1 waiting for fresh crew.  KCS 4688 front view.

At Twr 60, a NB BNSF grain train passes under the cirus clouds as it heads for Saginaw.

At Mansfield, Tx on the Midlothian Sub, Sb M-FwEg roars past me at 45mph with this nice sounding ACE on the point. 

To my suprise, a FXE loco was the tail motor on this train.  nice and clean.

After waiting 20 minutes, a SB BNSF train passes over Newt Patterson Rd(mp 36) with a H-AMSTEA.
